In the summer of 2024, sound artists Raphael Malfliet and Maarten Buyl traveled to Valle Onsernone, an expansive valley in the south of Switzerland, accessible only via a long, winding road.
For two weeks, they listened to the rugged nature and the stories of residents and Einzelgängers who found refuge there. Rushing water, ominous thunder, and thundering helicopters intersect their sound recordings, which they transform during a live performance into an intense sonic landscape portrait.
Experience for yourself how the contours of this mysterious place become almost visible and tangible.
“At first I was annoyed by the sound of the helicopters… but now it makes sense!”
